FAQs

How do you hold sessions?

All of our sessions are held online in order to make our work together as accessible and convenient as possible. These sessions are held through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that ensures your privacy and confidentiality. This allows you to attend therapy from the comfort of your own home or any private space that’s convenient for you.

Online therapy can be especially helpful for busy schedules or if you're in a location that makes in-person sessions challenging.

Do you bill Insurance?

No. We have intentionally chosen not to bill insurance for a few key reasons. First, insurance companies often require a formal diagnosis after just one or two sessions, which can reduce the complexity of your experience to a label that may not fully reflect your unique challenges. This process can feel stigmatizing, and certain diagnoses may have significant consequences for your career or personal life.

By not billing insurance, we can prioritize your well-being, keep your personal information private, and create a more flexible, personalized approach to therapy.

How do I pay for services?

Payment for both therapy and supervision is required upon service. We accept payment via credit card, debit card, and other secure online methods. If you prefer, we can set up a monthly payment plan to help with budgeting. Please don’t hesitate to ask about payment options or discuss any financial concerns with me directly.

What can I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and establish a comfortable, collaborative space. We’ll discuss your goals for therapy, what brought you in, and any concerns or challenges you’re currently facing. You can expect to talk about your life, but the focus will be on understanding where you are now and what you’re hoping to achieve.

My approach is nonjudgmental and supportive, so please feel free to share at your own pace. By the end of the session, we’ll work together to develop a plan that feels right for you moving forward.

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of therapy varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some people come for a few sessions to work through specific issues, while others may continue for several months or even years as they navigate deeper or ongoing challenges.

During our sessions, we’ll regularly check in on your progress and make adjustments as needed. Therapy is a process, and together we’ll determine the best course of action for you.

What if I need to Cancel or Reschedule a session?

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we require at least 24 hours' notice. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or if you don’t show up, the full session fee may apply. Life happens, and if there are extenuating circumstances, we can discuss an alternative.
