Christine Halterman, LICSW
Owner, Therapist and Clinical Supervisor
Hi, I’m Christine a therapist, social worker, and real human who knows that life is messy, and growth doesn’t happen in a straight line.
I bring a straightforward, compassionate, and sometimes slightly irreverent approach to therapy and supervision. I believe in the power of mindfulness, self-compassion, and learning to sit with life’s uncertainty.
My goal isn’t to “fix” you (because you’re not broken), it’s to help you reconnect with yourself, trust your instincts, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
My Background
I hold a clinical social work license in the State of Washington and am authorized to provide supervision for associate level mental health professionals pursuing licensure. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Worker from the University of Southern California in 2013.
I’ve spent over a decade working in healthcare, mental health, and hospice, helping people navigate some of life’s hardest moments. Through it all, I’ve learned that we don’t heal by pushing through alone—we heal in connection with others.
-
I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, whether it's chronic worry, panic attacks, or stress management in everyday life. Together, we'll explore the underlying causes and develop strategies to bring more peace and balance to your life.
-
Having experienced the depth of loss in various forms, I understand how grief can overwhelm us. I support clients through grief, helping them process their emotions and create a path forward while honoring the memory of their loved ones or significant life changes.
-
One of the key aspects of my work is helping clients break free from the cycle of depression and negative self-talk. If you're struggling with feelings of hopelessness, self-doubt, or a constant inner critic, I’m here to help you challenge those thoughts and develop a more compassionate, realistic view of yourself. Together, we'll work on building healthier thought patterns and improving your sense of self-worth so you can move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
-
Major life changes such as career shifts, relationship changes, parenthood, and aging can bring a wide range of conflicting emotions and unique challenges. I guide clients through these transitions, offering support, clarity, and practical tools for navigating change with confidence.
-
As we age or face serious illness, it’s natural to grapple with existential questions. I work with individuals and families to navigate aging, illness, and end-of-life issues, helping them find peace, acceptance, and meaning during this deeply personal time.
What do I treat?
A Little About Me
I live in beautiful Skagit County with my family, where I’m lucky to be surrounded by mountains, water, and wide-open spaces. I’m a wife and mom, which keeps life full and meaningful.
I love socializing, but as a true introvert, I also value and need my alone time. Tending to whatever I’m attempting to grow in the garden, doing an art project or simply soaking in the sunshine by the water are a my favorite ways to recharge.
Family is at the center of my life, and I try to bring that same sense of connection, warmth, and presence into my work.
